THE
MATRIX
What is FTC Robotics?
Matrix is way more than building robots.
FTC teams are challenged to design, build, program, and operate robots to compete in a head-to-head challenge in an alliance format.

Guided by adult coaches and mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and working as a team, all while having FUN!

About Our Team
Matrix is a community-based team based in Merritt Island, FL. Our team members are from Edgewood Jr/Sr High, Merritt Island Christian School, and home school, but all students from Merritt Island are welcome to join. Our season consists of designing, building, and programming a competition robot in eight weeks before our first competition.
Team Departments
There are four individual teams within team 9013 Matrix. Team members may contribute to all departments, or spend most of their time in one department, whatever speaks to your interest.
MECHANICAL TEAM
Builds the physical robot and mechanisms. Involves the use of power tools under the supervision of a mentor.
ELECTRICAL TEAM
Instals the motors, sensors, and control systems on the robot. Wires all robot parts to the central control hub.
NOTEBOOK TEAM
Writes, formats, and organizes the teams engineering notebook which is read by the judges at the tournaments.
PROGRAMMING TEAM
Programs the robot using JavaScript and troubleshoots technical issues with the robot control system.
